Heat Transfer Papers
Turning Vision What are they? They are carriers of image(s) that are subsequently transferred, under temperature & pressure onto a substrate - raincoat, t-shirt, glass, wood, office note cubes, etc. They are specially formulated and coated with a quick releasing material and have stripes or some kind of design on their non-printing side. What are transfers? These are the preprinted (or imaged) papers, ready to be ironed or heat-pressed onto the substrate. Sometimes, the transferred image alone is referred to as the 'transfer'.
1. Inkjet Heat Transfer Papers [Plus glow-in-the-dark transfer paper for t-shirts] 2. Laserjet Heat Transfer Papers Within these groups are: * special 'fabrics' transfer papers designed to transfer complex images, logos & photos onto (a) soft or soft and flexible surfaces, and (b) hard, rigid surfaces. These require a fabric substrate or a fabric-coated substrate [sweatshirts, t-shirts, mousepads, coasters, puzzles, canvas bags, scrapbook covers, binders, papers, leather, wood, nylon, padfolios, ceramic mugs][inkjet & laser] * special 'non-fabrics' transfer papers for transfer onto uncoated hard, rigid surfaces [ceramic tiles, glass, mirrors, stone & marble tiles, metal] [laser] * special transfer papers that can image natural fabrics (made of 100% cotton) & synthetics. These include a range of laserjet & inkjet papers for imaging stretchy fabric surfaces such as nylon. [laser & inkjet] For hard, rigid surfaces; we recommend the use of laser heat transfer papers only. Our papers offer: * significant bonding of the inked image with the sub-surface structures of the substrate for superior feel and durability. * excellent 'lie flat' property, and are exceptionally good for the reproduction of bright colours. Each supply comes with Free Instructions on how to turn your dreams into practical reality. For laserjet heat transfer papers, click here >> For inkjet heat transfer papers, see below ↓.

Practical Tips, Tricks & Potential Rewards For Using Image Transfer Papers The papers we supply enable you to create and sell uniquely customised and inspiring products to your clients. However, with just a little experimentation and exploration, you will discover endless possibilities to (a) grow your business, and (b) transfer laser and inkjet images onto substrates that were once the preserve of traditional heat transfer processes like dye sublimation. We have compiled, and are updating, a growing list of tips, tricks, techniques and rewards for using inkjet and laserjet image transfer papers - and we are sharing these and other experiences with our customers. Every off-line copy of our Application Instruction or UserGuide comes with an up-to-date version of this list. Below, is an introduction to the list. * print a preview before transferring onto substrate to see that everything is all right * always test your design on a scrap fabric before transferring onto your final substrate (fabric). Some fabrics may not show your design as well as you want. You may need to make some adjustments to your temperature and or pressure or even the design itself * the choice of using heat press or a home iron sometimes borders on economics (of scale). But please note that if the product Instructions require you to use a commercial heatpress, please do so. This is because, domestic irons can not get anywhere close to temperatures required for reliable transfer onto some substrates/fabrics. Commercial heat presses (e.g. Geo Knight's DK16 clampshell) tend to offer higher and more evenly spread temperature and pressure to the fabrics. They offer consistent heat, time and pressure * however, there are some heatpresses that are not quite of the commercial grade. These type of presses may be used for economic reasons . They are intended for start-ups, home use, and hobby-oriented transfer printing. An example is Geo Knight's JP14 digital jet swing away press. It is ideal for inkjetjet, laserjet, bubble-jet, copier & sublimation transfer papers users seeking professional results without the cost associated with commercial presses floor graphics, POP displays, posters). * When buying polyester materials, make sure it is not treated with optical whiteness (i.e., a product that makes the fabric look whiter than white). Polyester materials treated with optical whiteness can become yellow after the transfer process.
