Formulations & Applications

* Our MICR ink formulations are developed on special film grades to print crips, clean
E13b & CMC7 magnetic code lines or characters on:
- cheques (cut-sheet & continuous)
- payment vouchers, Coupons, etc
- drafts
- labels (including barcode printing)
- lottery & restaurant tickets (Heavy card stock printing & numbering)
- cut sheet & continuous forms, using pinless or pinfed/sprocket fed -
with or without tractor feed margins - and/or perforated single/multiple layer
continuous form papers. Varying grammage (80-180 gsm). (Typical forms
include postal payment, tax, and computer forms).

Ribbon Inventory

* We do not hold pre-cut rolls of ribbons for pre-encoding form printers [Nale, Roberts
Kerning, Delphax, Inotech, CTC, Dataprodcts, Troy, Atlantic/Zeiser, Dimuken,
Autographic, etc], because they have to be cut on demand to widths &
lengths and core diameters specified by our customers.

General Info./Tools For Your Consideration
1. MICR Line Readers
* Readers available in micr processing equipment are used to read details of the
line (s) of information on the documents as they are fed through them.
* The reader sends a magnetic charge to the cheque/document, as it passes
through it at speeds up to 70.
* The reader will detect & reject cheques/documents with poor or no magnetic
strength on its MICR line. Similarly, MICR lines altered with a poor or non-micr
ribbon are not validated. In either case, an alarm for fraud or a closer concern
leading to manual checks is triggered.
2. In order to print MICR documents, you may need
* a pre- or post encoding ribbon
* a micr impact dot or line matrix printer
* a security paper suitable for use with our regular, fluorescent, indelible 'bleed
through', and fluorescent & indelible ribbons
* uncoated, smooth, and relatively lint-free impact cut sheet and/or continuous
business form papers.
* a range of micr testing products (e.g., a micr line gauge)
* a suitable printing software that is capable of printing micr
cheques/documents. Or an eye for detail!
